Materials With Integrity:
This Is The Way!
We believe a garment is only as ethical as its smallest part. It’s easy to market a hero fabric like organic cotton, but true sustainability is hidden in the details. It’s in the thread that holds the seams, the interlining inside a jacket, and the material of the zipper tape. We’ve audited every single component, seen and unseen, to ensure that our Savot commitment to conscious design runs all the way through.
This Is The Way!
Our Savot Fabric Commitment.
The Heart of SAVOT.
The heart of every SAVOT piece is its fabric. Our selection process is guided by a simple philosophy: materials must be either seed-grown (like organic cotton, linen, and hemp) or naturally harvested (like animal fibres).
These renewable, natural-world fibres form the core of our collection. We mindfully consider regenerated cellulose fibres, like Modal from wood pulp or Bemberg from cottonseed, only when a garment’s design requires a specific softness or drape that these materials uniquely provide. Every roll of fabric is chosen not just for its origin, but for its entire lifecycle.
Our end goal is always a slow-fashion garment that can be mended, upcycled, or recycled, closing the loop on a truly sustainable system.

The Zippers we use.
Low Impact & Long Lasting Zippers.
A garment’s life is often cut short by a failed component. Zippers face the most mechanical stress, which is why durability is a sustainable feature. We partner with YKK, a leader not only in long-lasting quality but also in sustainable innovation. By choosing zippers built for longevity from a partner with a clear vision for low-impact manufacturing, we ensure this high-use component won’t be the reason your garment ends up in a landfill.
This partnership means we are using hardware from a company actively working to reduce its environmental impact, as outlined in its global sustainability vision, ensuring our zips are as responsible as they are resilient.
Conscious Stitching.
Our GOTS Certified Threads.
A garment is literally held together by its thread, yet it’s an area where brands cut corners with standard polyester. We use premium threads from Coats, specifically their EcoVerde™ and EcoVerde™ Dual Duty™ ranges.
These threads are made from 100% recycled materials and are certified by both the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Product Class I—the highest class, meaning they are proven safe even for baby skin.
Mindfully Button Fastened.
Our Recycled Hardware.
Our buttons and fasteners are chosen to actively eliminate harmful chemical processes. For our metal hardware, we use raw copper and alloy that are certified lead- and nickel-free.
Critically, these components are not electroplated, avoiding the highly toxic and polluting chemical baths common in metal finishing. Our resin buttons are also sourced from certified manufacturers, ensuring they meet strict environmental and safety standards from their creation to your garment.
Interlining.
Interlining is the hidden “skeleton” that gives structure to collars, cuffs, waistbands and jackets. Where others use fused synthetics, we’ve sourced a high-quality alternative made from 100% cotton.
This interlining is Oeko-Tex 100, Class II certified, guaranteeing that the fabric and its paired HDPE adhesive are rigorously tested and proven to be free from harmful substances and safe for direct skin contact.
Sizing and Care Labels.
We believe even the smallest label touching your skin should be natural and non-irritating. Unlike the industry-standard “scratchy” polyester labels, all our sizing and care instructions are printed on soft, 100% organic cotton.
This small detail ensures total comfort and means another plastic component is eliminated from your garment.
Savot Woven Labels.
Our brand identity is woven from the same philosophy as our garments. Your SAVOT brand label is not an afterthought, it’s crafted from 100% cotton.
This ensures that every part of the garment, even the branding, is natural, plastic free, and cohesive with our ethical standards.
Garment Tags & Packaging.
Our commitment to a circular economy extends to the information you see at purchase. Every SAVOT hang-tag and paper packaging is printed on 100% recycled card stock, which has been created entirely from post-consumer paper waste.
This gives new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded and reduces the demand for virgin pulp.
